Fiber Optic Sensors for High Temperature Environments( )

Fiber Optic Sensors for High Temperature Environments

Abstract:    Novel fiber optic sensors based on special multicore fiber are introduced. Experimental results show repeatable and stable operation at high temperatures up to 1000 °C. Measurements of temperature, force, stress, acoustic signals and mechanical bending will be demonstrated. The feasibility to multiplex several devices in a single fiber chain and to simultaneously measure different parameters will be discussed.
